The Lord of Darkness, also known as the Dark Lord or simply Darkness is a fictional character and the main antagonist of the 1985 dark fantasy film Legend. He is the master of the underworld whose greatest desire is to bring about a permanent darkness to the world by killing two unicorns whose souls harbor the world's light. Eons old, he was once the ruler of the entire world when it was once a place of perpetual darkness and night, but when light was born, he and his legion of minions were forced to retreat beneath the earth where sunlight became his greatest weakness. The Lord of Darkness is a tall demon that has blood-red skin, long, sharp claws, two enormous black horns, sharp teeth, a long, pointed chin, cloven hooves and glowing, yellow snake-like eyes wearing a black cape along with black trousers.
