Lian Gaia

Actress and determined performer, Psychology from Universidade Santa Úula. Gaia was born in Belford Roxo, on the outskirts of Rio de Janeiro, raised in Nova Iguaçu, and was at home with her three brothers, in a house with her three brothers, in a house with her three brothers in possession. She is heir to the struggle for land and the life of native peoples, great-granddaughter of João Pedro Teixeira – leader-founder of the first peasant league in Paraíba whose life and struggle was the subject of the classic documentary “Cabra Marcado para” (1984). She descends from indigenous peoples from Paraíba and Amazon and fights against ethnocide, using her art to give voice and visibility to the identity recovery of indigenous young people in context while experiencing her process of recovery as an indigenous of the Kariri people of Paraíba. It is exclusive to the Wyka Kwara Association and the Wayra Kunas Brasil Movement; co-founder of Anauá Filmes, an independent indigenous production company and creator of the “Ensaios Ancestral” group. Among his recent works, the special “Falas da Terra” (April 2021) aired on Rede Globo stands out; and the short film “Baile” (May, 2021) screened at RePensa Festival.
