The Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) is the ruling party and organization founded on 24 June 1949 by Kim Jong Un’s grandfather Kim Il Sung who ruled until 1994 when his father Kim Jong Il took power until 2011 which then became the "Eternal leaders of Juche Korea" that amended with constitution on 30 June 2016 with Kimilsungism–Kimjongilism as the official ideology and state philosophy of North Korea which referred itself as Juche that shared the same belief that only through self-reliance and a strong independent socialist state can be achieved. Juche became part of the larger Kimilsungism–Kimjongilism along with Songun under Kim Jong Un as he heads all major governing structures during his reign as the Supreme Leader or Suryeong of North Korea. Ten Fundamental Principles of the Workers' Party of Korea stated that the party and revolution must be carried "eternally" by the "Mount Paektu Bloodline". In North Korea, Korea as a whole is referred to as Joseon (meaning: Land of the Morning Calm). Joseon is the modern Korean pronunciation, which is also the basis of the word for Korea as a whole in Japan (朝鮮, Chōsen), China (朝鮮; Cháoxiǎn), and Vietnam (Triều Tiên).
