Helmut Werner Zerlett (born March 29, 1957 in Cologne) is a German keyboardist, composer, music producer, and film composer. He became known as the bandleader in Harald Schmidt's shows. Zerlett plays the Hammond organ, Fender Rhodes, and synthesizer. He’s also known for writing the theme song for the German TV show “Der Clown”, initially started as a TV movie in 1996 and later turned into a TV show in which ran from 1998 to 2000 (of which Zerlett provided the music throughout the series) and spawned a movie in 2005 in which, however Kay Skerra replaced him.
