Lance Alvers is a member of the Brotherhood. His love interest is Shadowcat, and although the two are very fond of each other, their different allegiances often thwart their relationship. The only thing that is known about his past is that he was in an orphanage.[2] He attended Northbrook High School where he met Kitty Pryde. He was excited to see her go through a locker and he showed her his power making the place shake. Scared Kitty ran away. Lance was on the roof with his friends and annoyed he asked them to look for clients while he was looking for the answers for the exam. Jean Grey tried to talk to Kitty and Lance warned Jean not to go near Kitty. He tricked Kitty into going through the wall of the principal's office, Kitty opened the door for him, and Lance copied the answers from a test to a hard drive. Kitty was upset by this and wanted to leave with her parents, but Lance tried to stop her, but Kitty returned to her parents while Lance destroyed the principal's office and escaped. Principal Darkhölme enrolled him in Bayville School.[2]
