12 years after Ariel and Eric got married and Ursula's demise, their daughter Melody, embarks on an adventure after her mother refuses to answer her questions about a magic locket she finds in the sea and seeks help from the younger sister of Ursula, Morgana to help her to become a mermaid. With the help of Atem and his friends, with the Mane 5, the adult Sparky, Spyro, Cynder, Flame, Ember, Zonoya, Rapture, Sparx, Layia along with their teenaged children, Nina, Ash and Frijir, the younger Olettea and Venturo, the adult Blaze, Rocky and their friends and Sebastian and the adult Flounder they try to find and bring Melody back home.
