Samuel S. Jones, better known as Fireman Sam, is a member of the Sodor Fire Department. He lives and works at the fire station along with his friend, Elvis Cridlington, his boss Station Officer Steele and the only girl firefighter on the team, Penny, who also happens to be Sam's wife. He has a pet Dalmatian named Radar, who's also the fire station's mascot and a search and rescue dog. Whenever there's trouble, you could count on Sam to get you out of any situation. Whether it'll be a fire, a storm or setting you free whenever you get stuck. That's why people all over call him the hero next door.
