Fan Casting The Rose of Versailles (1979 version)

This is an alternate version of the movie made by Jacques Demy in 1979 with a bigger budget and a different casting for an international release. The movie is a historical drama set in the years preceding and during the French Revolution and is a live-action version of the anime. Using a combination of historical personnages and original characters, The Rose of Versailles focuses primarily on the lives of two women: the Queen of France Marie Antoinette, and Oscar François de Jarjayes, who serves as commander of the Royal Guard.
