Story Plot

Phyllis Hyman was a singer, Broadway star and actress whose career spanned from the late '70s through the early 1990s. Her music consist of R&B and jazz music. Some of her most notable songs were "You Know How to Love Me", "Living All Alone and her only number-one R&B hit "Don't Wanna Change the World". She starred in the Broadway musical Sophisticated Ladies, based on the music of Duke Ellington, which earned her a Tony Award nomination for Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Musical and a Theatre World Award.
