Story Plot
Basically an actor is considered for a role in something, and they turn it down. Or they even go as far as to film/record all the scenes as a character, but stuff happens (or the executives find the actor terrible on doing the role), and the actor is kicked out and replaced/cut... And lots of lost media enthusiasts are years later trying to find the footage/audio...
