Mayday Parker, a fierce young hero known as the Scarlet Spider, has a dark past. Kidnapped as a child by the nefarious Alison Mongrain, her memories remain fragmented. Now, Mongrain returns to New York City with a sinister agenda – the Gathering of Five ceremony. As Scarlet Spider, Mayday must unravel Mongrain's plot and protect the city. But a shocking revelation rocks her world: her father, Peter Parker, is none other than the legendary Spider-Man. However, Peter's life is far from heroic. Disillusioned and working as a scientist alongside the enigmatic Doctor Otto Octavius at the shadowy Oscorp, Peter carries the burden of past failures. His troubled relationship with his boss, Harry Osborn, son of the infamous Norman Osborn (the man responsible for the death of Peter's beloved Gwen Stacy), adds further strain. The return of Black Cat to the city throws another complication into the mix. To thwart Mongrain's ceremony, Peter must overcome his demons and reclaim the mantle of Spider-Man.
