The Pilgrims were the exception in the 1620's in a cruel world of intolerance, persecution, slavery, witch trials, human sacrifice, sin and evil. Mark Twain once said "the damned human race" which was certainly prevalent 400 years ago no matter the continent. Rock Mania puts that world into context and disrupts historical myths with this historical fiction of a budding prison romance during the boom and then bust of tulip mania in the Dutch Republic. We should celebrate the eternal flames of love, tolerance and freedom brought to America by the Pilgrims.
