Character Description
Life changed for Courtney Whitmore when her mother got married to Pat Dugan. Digging in some of Pat's stuff, Courtney would discover the Cosmic Converter belt used by Sylvester Pemberton, the original Star-Spangled Kid aka Skyman, and that Pat was Stripesy, Sly's partner in action. Taking this and designing her own costume, Courtney became the modern Star-Spangled Kid, with Pat joining her as S.T.R.I.P.E., a mechanical suit he made. After gaining the Cosmic Rod from Jack Knight, Courtney would eventually change her name to Stargirl, being a key member of the modern JSA's newcomers.
