Growing up with his aunt after his mother died, Jakeem "J.J." Williams got into all kinds of trouble. But his life would change when he would get a pen from Jay Garrick, and used the word "Cei U", calling forth Johnny Thunder's partner, Yz the Thunderbolt. Eventually coming into contact with Lkz, another 5th dimensional djinn, Jakeem began to see the desire to become a superhero, where he would eventually join the JSA. With the new phrase, "So Cool!", Jakeem can call on Thunderbolt to do anything he wishes... within limits, of course, and Jakeem hopes to honor the legacy of Johnny Thunder as Jakeem Thunder.
