Created by Dr. Thomas Oscar Morrow to destroy his enemies in the JLA and the JSA, the Red Tornado would develop a consciousness of his own, eventually becoming part of both teams. In time, he would have his body merged with that of Ulthoon, the wind god of the distant planet Rann, giving him a soul. Taking the identity of John Smith, Red Tornado helps save the world with his wind manipulating powers as he strives to be as human as he can be, not just as a hero, but as a husband to his wife Kathy and a father to their adopted daughter Traya.
