Born Christopher Schmidt, Chris Smith witnessed his father kill himself at a young age due to the guilt Wolfgang Schmidt had over his crimes in World War II. This left Chris with many issues, even as he and his mother moved to America. Entering Vietnam, Chris was soon recruited into Project: Peacemaker, fighting so much for peace he would kill it. In recent years, Chris has overcome his mental illnesses and aided Jaime Reyes' Blue Beetle. Now, as a favor to Rick Flag, he's been asked to suit up once more and join the Suicide Squad as a handler... and just unaware of what awaits.
