Character Description
An Air Force pilot and friend to Hal Jordan, Larry Trainor was caught in an accident when test piloting an experimental suborbital plane, causing him to be bonded to an alien negative spirit while making him extremely radioactive. Niles Caulder aided Larry with special bandages to protect people from his radioactivity as well as to channel the spirit bound to him, named Mercurius, leading Larry to become known as Negative Man, a charter member of the Doom Patrol. Larry can separate from Negative Man and control him while fused with Mercurius, but his body is vulnerable at this time, and Negative Man cannot be separated from Larry for more than a minute at a time.
