Once an aspiring attorney, Jill Carlyle had gone on to buy the original guns used by Lee Travis, the first Crimson Avenger, from a pawn shop to kill a criminal she deemed guilty of a crime she couldn't convict them of. However, the guns were designed to be instruments of vengeance over the centuries, and cursed her, just as they supposedly cursed Lee Travis. Now, as the current Crimson Avenger, Jill is bound to those seeking vengeance, but she doesn't see the whole story of the people she "avenges", and is beginning to learn the weapons' true origins... as she seeks to balance vengeance with her old beliefs of justice, as hard and difficult a road as it is.
