Once a professor of political economy at Cambridge, Everstone made his fortune advising central banks and transitioned into politics during the 1970s. A fiscal hawk with a distrust for anything deemed "excessive" or "romanticized", he sees the Cross Organization as a relic of imperial fantasy unless proven cost-efficient. He views Eleanor as an unqualified liability and a poor investment, especially after the bloody fallout of the 1989 Cross family coup. He continues to demand quarterly performance metrics from the Organization and probes the use of V as a budgetary “black hole.”
