@mephilesthedark Since disney's developing a lilo and stitch sequel (I believe), Captain Gantu should be the main villain, and he should be more of an dark and edgier character.

Might I suggest adding the preservation of the anti-colonial messaging? I only saw the trailer but I noticed the ice cream tourist was replaced by a native with a snow cone, which completely negates his purpose as a character. He's not just there as some bs fat joke; it's a commentary on tourism/colonialism in Hawaii and how out-of-place he is.

Also keep the Ugly Duckling story. It's key to Stitch's development.

For me personally a way to fix this remake is take the reimagining approach basically instead of a shot for shot remake but rather a reimagining that respects the core themes of the original movie

@axiomman I would keep Gantu too and in my remake rewrite he's there as disgraced captain turned Bounty Hunter and well a tickling clock for Jumba

@axiomman the first act would be Stitch crashes into the wilderness namely the rainforests of Hawaii far from human eyes where interacts with animals it kinda shows Stitch's isolation before juxtaposed with his meeting with Lilo in the second act

I hope that if there is actually a sequel to this film then: 1) they will bring back Gantu and 2) they will make Jumba a positive character.
