What started out as a normal day in the park ended in every parent’s worst nightmare, as a momentary distraction causes Jenna Easton to lose sight of her young daughter, Melanie. Hours of searching turned into days, day turned into weeks, weeks into years, and during this passage of time there was no sign of the girl, no clues as to her whereabouts or who might’ve taken her. Its only ten years later, when Melanie has officially been declared dead in absentia, that a group of hunters stumble across the now sixteen-year-old in a seemingly abandoned hut. A previously grieving Jenna is overcome with joy and graciously welcomes her daughter back home, where she now resides with her husband Seth and their three other children. Although the family does their best to help Melanie settle in, she struggles greatly, often lashing out in violent outbursts and suffering sleepless nights due to repeated nightmares. To make matters worse, at the same time of Melanie’s being found, the town has been plagued with a series of what seem to be wild animal attacks. These attacks, plus Melanie’s apparent inability to readjust, begin to make Jenna question everything – and she can’t help but wonder, has her daughter changed in more ways than one since she’s been gone? Or is there something – or someone – more sinister responsible for what’s going on?
