Story Plot
Donna Leon's 26th novel about Venetian Detective, Commissario Guido Brunetti. Commissario Brunetti realizes he needs a break from the Questura. His wife, Paola, urges him to spend time at a villa on Sant'Erasmo, one of the largest islands on the laguna. While there, he befriends the villas caretaker, Davide Casati, and spends time rowing with him throughout the laguna. When Casati goes missing after a storm, Brunetti is compelled to find out what happen to his friend, and in the process dredges up dark memories of an accident and cover up yesrs before.
