A year and a half after planet Namek's destruction and following the defeat of The Council of Evil, many of the Z fighters are returning to some semblance of a normal life, and are still awaiting for the day Goku returns. But Dr. Gero and his androids, employed by the Red Ribbon Army have began to conquer the world, and without Goku, the Z Fighters have to fight, but they get a new ally from the future named Trunks, and await for the return of Goku, which may be sooner than they think
