"Always on My Mind" chronicles the life of Willie Nelson, a man whose rebellious spirit and unapologetic honesty reshaped the landscape of country music. Born during the Great Depression in Abbott, Texas, Willie's early life was marked by poverty, loss, and a burning desire to make his mark on the world. As Willie grows up, he finds solace in music, teaching himself to play the guitar and write songs. But his journey to stardom is far from easy. Battling against the Nashville establishment, Willie refuses to conform to the polished image of mainstream country music. Instead, he blazes his own trail, blending elements of folk, rock, and jazz to create a sound that is uniquely his own. The film delves into Willie's personal life, exploring his complex relationships, including his marriages, divorces, and the tragic loss of loved ones. Despite his success, Willie struggles with inner demons, turning to drugs and alcohol to cope with the pressures of fame. But through it all, music remains his salvation, guiding him through the darkest moments of his life.
