nathanbates I can’t believe it’s been 10 years since the hype for Man of Steel began rolling. I was amped for it, basically riding off of the Dark Knight Rises’ momentum online. I had backed Cavill for Superman since ‘09, I think. The teaser with Jor-El’s narration was ripped right out of my recently-Terrence-Malick-loving fanboy dreams. And then. I haven’t felt the urge to revisit it in... years. I’ve caught bits of it on tv now and then but still not a serious sit through.

nathanbates @castingsinmyblood Reeve and Kidder carry those movies with their interplay. It’s still probably the cast couple in superhero movie history.

castingsinmyblood @batsonjacksont Odd, since I don't really care for the Richard Donner Superman films. Nothing's really wrong with them, but I don't really care for certain elements in how it was made (Gene Hackman's Luthor was a missed opportunity to me). I suspect it's because I'm not a Richard Donner fan. Or maybe it's because I don't care for the Superman march. *shrugs*. Art is subjective, after all.
