Clark has been Superman for a few years. He already works at the Daily Planet,. One day when a man named John Corben, learns about his sisters death, he blames Superman for it. He thinks Superman should have saved her. While liistening to the last voicemail she left him, he gets hit by a truck. He gets fixed by a doctor, but he was fixed with robotic parts. He has never liked Superman, so he also blames him for this. While Superman is saving people from a fire, John (now named Metallo), goes after Superman and they fight. During their fight, they cause an accident that causes a Star Labs janitor named Rudy Jones to mutate into a monster. When Clark beats Metallo, he flies off wounded. After he gets healed with the help of Lois (who already knows his secret and is his girlfriend.) Superman goes to fight Metallo again and beats him again. The fight ends with Superman breaking what is left of Johns metal body in half. But there is some comotion near a bridge. We see a huge creature at least 12 feet tall in the water. Superman ultimately beats him by seeing that Parasite is only a man who was at the wrong place at the wrong time. Superman tries his best to stop him from hurting the people of Metropolis. But the people who are afraid start attacking Parasite. Superman tries to stop them from hurting him but they don't. Then, something happens to Parasite. He falls on his back in the water, and dies.
