After the events of Rune: Misttress of the Mystics Arts, Jacob Flynn has decided to return home to the technologically advanced Pacific nation of Pacifica to serve as his country's new king. However, Jacob soon finds out that there is no home for him to go to as his own country was destroyed with all it's inhabitants including his family dead and sank too the bottom of the ocean. Upon learning this, from one of the only survivors his friend and the general of the Mano Oceania (Pacifican special forces), Ga'li tells him that he believes that Jacob's malicious brother Neperan had something to do with his parents and country's demise. As all he seeks is absolute power and chaos. Jacob as Abyss must team up with Ga'li and S.T.A.R. agent Lauren Channings to prevent Pacifica's most precious export Hydronium from being used to created weapons of mass destruction, Jacob must discover the full potential of his true destiny as Abyss in order to save the world from Neperan's evil plot.
