Synopsis

Princess Amethyst, sole survivor of the House of Opal, was whisked away from Gemworld after her family was wiped out by the evil Dark Opal. As Amy Winston, a teenage girl living on Earth, she discovers her true heritage when Dark Opal's forces finally track her down and attack, resulting in the awakening of her long-dormant magical powers. Amy, now awakened as Princess Amethyst, returns to Gemworld to claim her rightful place and protect those in need.

Description of Dark Opal:

Dark Opal is a villainous despot in Gemworld and an enemy of the hero Amethyst. Born to the House of Opal, he schemed to become the ruler of Gemworld so he could conquer other realms. In addition to being an excellent combatant, he is an expert in dark magic. Amethyst eventually lead the other Houses to overthrow him. His son is Granch and his brother is the heroic White Opal.
