When he first arrived on the Island of Sodor, Diesel thought that steam engines were a thing of the past, but with the help of Thomas, he soon learned that steam engines are just as useful as diesel engines. He can be kind of a trickster, playing pranks on the other engines, but he's always willing to forgive. He has girlfriend called Daisy the Diesel Railcar. He's also close friends with Mavis and Salty the Dockside Diesel. Every day, he tries to be really useful, all while trying to be good along the way. For him, it isn't always easy, but it gets better every day, with the help of his friends.
