This is based on an episode of the series "The Legend of Tarzan", where in one episode, Edgar Rice Burroughs (original author of Tarzan), in search of inspiration for his book, traveled to Africa and met the character. So Disney could do that again in this movie with Mowgli and its original author, so it would be a good way for Disney to pay tribute to its author after having made a successful movie adapting his work.
