She is the fiancée of Antônio da Silva, Josefel Zanatas' only friend in the city, who he begins to make advances on after discovering that his wife is infertile, since his main goal is to have a perfect child that will continue his blood, and he believes that Tereza is the ideal woman for that. After murdering Antônio and his wife, Josefel approaches Tereza and sexually abuses her, finally managing to get pregnant, however, the girl commits suicide and puts a curse on Josefel, swearing that her soul will return to drag him to hell with her, which she fulfills at the end of the film.
