Mac Gargan is a former mercenary for hire who was originally being tasked to hunt and kill many costume superheroes to bring money and power for his boss. After Mac was being slow and failed to kill the new superhero Spider-Man, he was kicked out of the gang by his boss. He doesn't give up and would find a way to finish what he had started. Mac decided to inject a serum in himself, causing him to change physically and having scorpion based superpowers including strength, speed, flexibility, endurance, climbing on walls, and acidic bites from his fangs. He even created a costume with shades of green and a long tail that contains acid on the blade in order to kill anyone. Mac would later become a supervillain known as The Scorpion so that Spider-Man would become his prey.
