Sonic X Shadow Generations: Dark Beginnings (ソニック × シャドウ ジェネレーションズ：闇の序章[2] Sonikku X Shadō Jenerēshonzu Yami no Joshou) is an 2D animated web-series depicting the backstory of Shadow the Hedgehog, and serving as a prologue to Sonic X Shadow Generations. The series contains three episodes, all of which will release on 25 September 2024, 3 October 2024, and 10 October 2024, respectively. A preview of episode one was released on 6 July 2024 at the annual Anime Expo event.
