After meeting Knuckles, Mighty shows that he still misses Sonic after these past few months the last time they saw him. He's been carrying a picture of him and Ray with him when they were kids on Christmas Island. Sonic was like a brother to him. A cousin who would always visit. He and Uncle Chuck were like family to him and his little squirrel brother.
