The uncle of Darkseid, and a god of war, Steppenwolf served loyally with his nephew after being suggested to ignite a war between New Genesis and Apokolips, with Steppenwolf being responsible for killing Avia, the wife of Izaya, Highfather at the time. Though he was killed by Izaya in retaliation, Steppenwolf would rise again to lead Darkseid's armies, fighting with his Electro-Axe. Though killed in human form by the Clock King before the Final Crisis, Steppenwolf has begun to revive himself, being found by Dr. Impossible, and Steppenwolf now seeks an ancient secret of the New Gods on Earth as he sought in 1223... the Unity.
