One of the descendants of a Kherubim who was among those that crashed on Earth centuries ago, Jeremy Stone had no idea of his heritage as he traveled with his father, Professor Richard Stone, as he worked as an archaeologist. To save his father, Jeremy instinctively awoke his powers, but disappeared because of his unusual appearance. Eventually found by Jacob Marlowe, Jeremy learned he was a Titanthrope, a rare Kherubim subspecies capable of mass manipulation. Trained in using his powers, Jeremy would join Marlowe's Wildcats, taking the codename Maul, as the team's heaviest hitter.
