The daughter of the original Black Canary, Dinah Lance wanted to become a hero like her mother as well as her father, who was a cop before he died. Though Dinah, Sr. disapproved, "Junior" was trained by her "uncles" in the Justice Society, who helped her learn martial arts as well as how to handle her Canary Cry superpower. Eventually, Dinah would take on the mantle of Black Canary, helping to form the JLA in addition to the Birds of Prey, as well as helping all kinds of people.
