"For me, relatable characters also mean 'characters that make me see myself in them'. I may be funny and joyful like SpongeBob, Genie from Aladdin, and Scooby-Doo. But I'm also a victim of grief, loss, pain, negative feedback, all of that combined for most of my entire lifetime. That's how I relate to Shadow the Hedgehog. But I also relate to Wade Whipple in some way, meaning that he has dad issues, he's a movie buff, he's practically a kid in an adult man's body. But I'm also been betrayed, even by my own family.
