Absolute tragedy that Auli'i is the only easily-identifiable Hawaiian actress in the right age group to play Nani. The closest second I can find is Alyea Rourke, who's only ever described as an "Island Pacific" actress, and neither she nor Auli'i are dark-skinned enough to accurately depict Nani.

@squirrelstone agreed, it's the fact that a Native Hawaiian actress was NEVER considered in the casting of Nani in the first place since I remember watching a clip of Sydney being interviewed, and the choices were between her or her wasian sister. The blatant whitewashing of Nani's character is disgusting, omg.
