    @nathanbates No it's not. Because if you actually did your homework you would know (1) that the people who call him anti-semetic do so based on something he said 20 YEARS AGO when he was drunk and (2) he has since apologized several times and has turned his life around. So no, what you said isn't even close to intelligent and betrays your ignorance and lack of willingness to accept the fact that people change (and Mel has changed).

    I’m not sure if Mel’s right choice anymore. Yes, I know he was the original Max, but he’s been in a lot of controversies in the past recent years. But none the less, I respect your casting choice

    @batsonjacksont I'd personally really like to see an Mel return to the role. All those controversies are well behind him and he's been making a comeback. Plus he made the character and it would be poetic for the role that made him a star be the same role that relaunch his comeback. I've always wanted to see a look at an older Max and how the inhabitants have progressed in the time since Thunderdome. It would create a lot of opportunities to do something original and take the project in a unique direction.
