Raised in the working class neighbourhoods of District 1 Crystal was entered to their Career Academy at the age of 10, shortly after the 53rd Hunger Games and showed aptitude with swords and knives as well as charisma. In her arena, modelled after Meso-American pyramids, Crystal came to lead the Careers and made seven kills in the girls from Districts 2, 5, 6, 11 and 12 and the boys from Districts 2 and 4. She seemed to adapt to post-arena life peacefully for the next number of years and developed a romance with Brilliance Rosencratz. However following the announcement of the 3rd Quarter Quell Crystal panicked after several nightmare visions and soon after commited suicide at the age of 31.
