Sonic and the gang found a video about Eggman's own grandfather Gerald Robotnik, who was chained to a chair, saying his last words to G.U.N. who wrongfully accused him of being a war tyrant. Gerald vows that the Eclipse Cannon will leave a hole in Earth, just as Earth left a hole in him after what G.U.N. did to Maria. The soldiers that were told to execut him that moment didn't;t believe him and asked if those where his last words. They were. Then Gerald died a brutal way no other adaptation would do: G.U.N. soldiers circled around him, and fired, even continued firing at the corpse until, he looked like Swiss cheese (although we don't see that, the group does.)
