Character Description
Van Helsing is a determined, old-school monster hunter with a sharp mind, steady hands, and a deep sense of duty fueled by personal loss. Though he sees the Cryptwalkers as his ultimate failure—having escaped him 202 times—his obsession masks a weariness and hidden respect for their bond. He’s a loving but overburdened grandfather to Mina, trying to raise her right while juggling multiple jobs and chasing monsters across Melancolia. Despite his gruff exterior, there’s warmth and wisdom beneath the armor, and he gradually softens as he sees the humanity in the creatures he once hunted. To the Cryptwalkers, he’s both a relentless threat and a tragic mirror of what fear can turn someone into.
